Radio Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs radio transmitting and receiving equipment. Being a Radio Mechanic has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Radio Mechanic works under immediate supervision. CDL Diesel Mechanic job responsibilities include :
- Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
- Repair, reline, replace and adjust brakes
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors
- Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined and other potentially troublesome areas
- Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals and experience
- Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services
- Repair manual and automatic transmissions
- Replace and adjust headlights
- Comply with all safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Ensure cleanliness of shop and surrounding areas

Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year recent medium / heavy diesel maintenance experience
- Must have own hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- CDL license preferred
- Good driving record and proven work history
- Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
- DIAGNOSTIC EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS
