Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare leads and directs process and overall quality improvement activities that produce better patient care and more efficient operations. Develops programs to review and evaluate patient care and outcomes. Being a Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare implements a strategy and plans for a quality improvement function within the facility in collaboration with the administrative and clinical leaders of the hospital. Tracks and presents results of improvement efforts and ongoing measures of clinical processes to management. Additionally, Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Remote Work : This position is a hybrid position and has the ability able to work remotely as approved by management.

    Position qualifications :

    Experience with audits and quality / compliance preferred.

    Job purpose :

    The Quality Improvement Specialist's primary responsibility is to improve the quality of Mind Springs, Inc. services. This position provides leadership, project management, and oversight in the areas of quality improvement, training, regulatory and contractual compliance, performance measurement, and outcomes measurement.

    Travel to regional sites within Mind Springs, Inc. may be required.

    Knowledge, Skill & Ability (include materials and equipment directly used) :

    • CPR / BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider prior to independent patient care required.
    • CPI Training / Certification optional in order to perform duties required by CPI training to provide verbal de-escalation and physical and mechanical restraints if necessary (Training for certification will be provided).
    • Ability to effectively communicate Mind Springs, Inc. performance expectations to staff
    • Knowledge of quality improvement processes, tools and Best Practices approaches
    • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse regulations
    • Knowledge of clinical risk an utilization management practices
    • Capable of independent action without losing sight of Mind Springs, Inc. policies, procedures, mission, and values
    • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.

    Working Conditions / Physical Demands :

    Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop.

    Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites.

    May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and / or intoxicated individuals with possible mental health conditions.

    Possible exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
