Public Relations Manager develops and implements policies and procedures for the public relations department. Maintains favorable public image for employer or client by communicating programs, accomplishments, and/or points of view. Being a Public Relations Manager evaluates all forms of communications before release to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of message and authorizes release. Prepares and distributes news releases, fact sheets, scripts, etc. to media outlets. Additionally, Public Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Public Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Public Relations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     PRIMARY SUPERVISOR: SUPERINTENDENT

    Performance Responsibilities

    • Operate a switchboard; provide routine information and assistance; receive incoming calls and make necessary connections to school or District office or individual; take and transmit information and messages as requested.
    • Perform a variety of clerical work as assigned including posting and maintaining records, typing and duplicating materials, receiving, sorting and distributing mail, preparing bulk and certified mail and maintaining postage records; assist other offices with a variety of clerical duties as directed.
    • Greet, screen and direct visitors to appropriate departments; provide routine information to the public.
    • Prepare, duplicate, assemble and distribute materials; maintain telephone personnel directory as assigned.
    • Maintain and updates website for district and schools.
    • Maintain One-Call list.
    • Maintain and update district social media accounts.
    • Attend and photograph district and school events as assigned by superintendent.
    • File and type routine lists, records, reports and correspondence.
    • Operate a variety of office equipment including computer, postage meter, calculator and copy machine.
    • Assist delivery drivers.
    • Assist custodians with PPE needs.
    • Assist in event planning for staff.
    • Assist office staff with deadlines and needs.
    • Maintain Facilities Request.
    • Maintain Vehicle Request.
    • Maintain Vehicle use calendar.
    • Maintain Board Conference Room Calendar.
    • Send transcripts for past students.
    • Perform Volunteer background checks.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.
    • Log checks, make copy and give to Accounts Receivable
    • Set up board room for meetings.
    • Give Superintendent donor information.
    • Match PO’s with bills.
    • Mail checks.
    • File Accounts Payable bills.
    • Maintain Vendor W-9’s.

    Education And Experience

    Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward a G.E.D as required by Kentucky Law.

    Terms Of Employment

    Salary and work year to be determined by the board.

    Physical Demands

    The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work at times requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work requires activities involving driving automotive equipment.
