Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor oversees activities of the property/casualty underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect property/casualty insurance contracts, which includes accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor experienced in risk management and complex applications. Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor may assist with analysis of large accounts. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Claim Support Supervisor supervises Claim Operations Support Staff and assists other Claim Support Supervisors.
This position will be located in Omaha, NE.
What will you do?- Assist in the interviewing, selection and hiring of Claim Support Staff.
- Evaluate job performance, completing performance reviews and recommending to Claim Support Manager personnel actions such as transfers, promotions, disciplinary measures, discharge, salary adjustments, and staffing levels.
- Train and cross-train Claim Support Staff in essential duties and responsibilities, use of Company technology, Claim Operations workflows and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED, & two years of related college courses or equivalent
- 2 to 3 years related work experience
- Good understanding of basic math
- Experience using computer related software
- Claim Operations policies and procedures
- Basic insurance terms and coverages
- You are an excellent communicator and are a capable leader.
- You are a detail-oriented thinker and are able manage multiple priorities in a timely manner.
- You are able to work independently and coordinate with other team members.
- You are a goal-oriented person with excellent time management skills.
