Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor oversees activities of the property/casualty underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect property/casualty insurance contracts, which includes accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor experienced in risk management and complex applications. Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor may assist with analysis of large accounts. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Description

    Kennebunkport Resort Collection is seeking a Property Maintenance Supervisor to assist in overseeing seven downtown locations within the collection - Kennebunkport Inn, The Boathouse, The Grand Hotel, Via Sophia by the Sea, Yachtsman Hotel & Marina Club (seasonal), Lodge on the Cove (seasonal), and Cabot Cove Cottages (seasonal).

    Job Summary

    General Maintenance & Groundskeeping Duties:

    • Monitor Whistle, our communication application, as guest issues and work orders develop and are input by the Guest Services team. Prioritizing and responding to these issues in a timely manner is a key component of the job.
    • Complete projects as they arise including work in remodeling, light carpentry, general repairs, painting, tile work, lighting, refrigeration, etc. Be aware of and ensure compliance with city, state and/or federal code.
    • Prep areas and apply interior paint, sanding, wallpaper application/repair as well as basic furniture and equipment repair.
    • Ensure guest rooms, restaurant, and public areas are maintained to company standard.
    • Communicate shift details to Manager and Front Office/Housekeeping based on work order completion and progress. Maintain continuous communication with Front Office during all shifts to ensure all complaints are addressed.
    • Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures, emergency evacuation procedures and all safety related issues.
    • Maintain safe and clear exterior walking areas including landscaping, waste removal, and snow/ice management.
    • Ensure facilities buildings and staff vehicles are clean and organized at all times.
    • Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
    • Use safe work practices daily. Report any unsafe areas to maintenance and Guest Services Manager.
    • Understand best practices in Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Accident Reporting, Right to Know Law, Written Information Security Program, Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures, and ensuring compliance with zero-tolerance policies including Anti-Harassment, Violence in the Workplace, or Influence in the Workplace.
    • Comply with all time and attendance policies.
    • Comply with all uniform, dress code, and appearance standards.

    Additional Leadership Duties;

    • Monitor and delegate to subordinate team members to ensure they remain busy during their shift. Create an ongoing list of tasks ahead of time for use during the slower moments should they arise.
    • Work effectively with other maintenance personnel in a positive, professional manner. Lead by example with professionalism and high standards of guest services and quality of work.
    • Be proactive in finding maintenance issues throughout the hotels that have not been brought to our attention by the Guest Services team or General Managers.
    • Work professionally with all third-party vendors and suppliers as a point of contact for maintenance work orders requiring outside assistance.
    • Maintain inventories of necessary paints, supplies and chemicals. Report needs to the Engineering Manager.
    • Play a lead role in Energy conservation.
    • Assist Engineering Manager in regular preventive maintenance programs for all equipment.
    • Professionally handle guest complaints, solve problems, apologize/emphasize during guest complaints, follow up. Communicate any elevated complaints that could not be resolved to the Engineering Manager.
    • Assist Engineering Manager with additional assigned tasks and projects.
    • Ability to communicate with other managers and staff in a positive, efficient, and friendly manner.
    • Flexibility to step into whatever role is needed to deliver exceptional service. This may include taking on job responsibilities outside of this job description and may require assisting other departments in their regular functions.
    • Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration. Motivate and lead the team to accomplish tasks effectively.
    • Escalate associate concerns to Maintenance Manager and People Culture department. Assist in resolution as requested.
    • Availability to work primarily days midweek with one weekend day. Willing to work flexible hours based on business needs.

    Key Skills & Experience Required

    • 2 Years maintenance leadership experience, hotel/lodging environment highly preferred
    • Possesses a well-rounded set of maintenance skills including painting, patching, buffing, HVAC, mechanical, and general electric troubleshooting, and problem solving daily room maintenance issues.
    • Familiar with preventative maintenance programs and upkeep of management/delegation/tracking
    • Prior third party vendor relations
    • Demonstrates natural leadership qualities with a positive, team-focused attitude
    • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs including weekdays and weekends.
    • Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Expresses sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for guest services.
    • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused with constant interruptions.
    • Strong understanding of lodging operations; reservations, appropriate guest service etiquette, etc.
