Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     SHIFT/HOURS/LOCATION: M-F 8am-5pm, on-site, Moses Lake, WA

    Position Summary: Under the direction of the PM Manager the Project Manager will work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams throughout assigned project life cycles achieving company goals. This position will partner and work collaboratively with project stakeholders to deliver projects within cost, schedule, and performance targets/goals. The Project Manager will demonstrate professional appearance, behavior and attitude at all times while performing his/her job duties.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

    • Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated.
    • Create executive level status materials with the ability to summarize progress status to executive leadership.
    • Provide project readiness assessment at each stage of the project using established Organization Project Management (OPM) guidelines.
    • Plans and facilitates project meetings to align the project team to methods and goals and to track project tasks.
    • Monitors task completion status to identify at risk project tasks and to develop mitigation plans.
    • Allocates resources, budgets, and hours to the project and adjusts allocations when necessary.
    • Utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
    • Communicates schedule and changes to all stakeholders.
    • Prepares agendas, meeting notes, and project summaries.
    • Manages projects from planning through delivery.
    • Identify interdependencies across projects, programs, products, and portfolios.
    • Other duties as assigned to support a high functioning team.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 0-5 years related work experience in project management
    • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing company, semi-conductor or high-tech Prefer chemical background, experience & four-year degree or path to degree
    • Preference for a bachelor’s degree in business base program or relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged
    • Effective time manager with high organization & managing competing priorities; ability to prioritize and plan operational workload, balance competing priorities
    • Understanding scientific and technical data, including Six Sigma toolset and knowledge of mathematics, data analysis and statistical methods
    • Attention to detail, observation, organization, analytical, problem-solving & leadership
    • Ability to facilitate meetings for requirements definition, readiness impacts, and documentation, project planning, decision negotiations, risk and issue identification and management, and status tracking
    • Preferred technical and IT skills, toolset usage, planning and problem solving, including applicable technology, tools & industry best practices
    • Excellent communication, listening & presentation (written & verbal) skills in English
    • Work effectively with high tolerance of ambiguity and ability to follow instruction
    • Assertive, self-starter that sets initiative and goals
    • Critical thinking, scenario planning, & risk mitigation techniques and systems
    • Customer service & orientation (internal/external), ability to work through others, teamwork
    • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite, including Access & Visio, and Project Management techniques (PMI), and systems
    • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Follow written and verbal instructions in English
    • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines
    • Work as a team and/or independently
    • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    Summary pay range: $75K to $120K

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.
