Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to a director. The Project Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description

    Job Description: This analyst position function within the business unit, supporting the management team and director if the division with responsibilities for all local agency Memorandum of Understanding agency requests, Member Subscriber Agreements, Business Unit reporting functions, Division policies and procedures, handling Critical Connect onboarding, and other special project requests like Radio Management access requests and assisting with media content support. This analyst will work with both the MPSCS internal and external partners throughout the State of Michigan to verify and confirm data, process complex requests, work inside various software applications such as EAM and Radio Management, work with existing reports and develop new reports, and analyze, suggest, and develop new policies and procedures.

    Knowledge of the principles and practices of research and analysis.

    Knowledge of the tools of management, such as methods development, cost analysis, procedural manuals, training materials, operating controls, records and reports, and studies applicable in evaluating programs or services.
    Knowledge of the principles and methods of research, statistics, operational analysis, cost analysis, and finance of public and private programs.
    Knowledge of the initiation, development, accomplishment, and evaluation of public programs or services.

    Ability to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate a variety of data for use in program development and analysis.

    Ability to establish program or service procedures, policies, or guidelines and to relate these to objectives.

    Required Education and Experience

    Education
    Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

    No specific type or amount is required.

    Departmental Analyst 10
    One year of professional experience.

    Departmental Analyst P11
    Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

    Alternate Education and Experience

    Departmental Analyst 9 - 12
    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

    Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

    Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
