Reviews and approves specifications, designs, bids, contracts, drawings, change orders, and progress reports. Being a Project Engineer - Construction monitors project progress. Identifies and assesses engineering project risks, and develops mitigation strategies and solutions. Additionally, Project Engineer - Construction facilitates collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Duties and Responsibilities Manage and support a team consisting of Project Manager, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and other staff Build relationships and communicate with owners, design partners, subcontractors, & workforce Review shop drawing, submittals and schedules, and process RFIs Monitoring the quality control, safety and environmental programs Understand and assist with project layout Identify critical work items, and procure long-lead items Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and process change orders Manage document control including submittals schedules, contract documents, and shop drawings Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials and equipment Resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce Instill safety as a top priority Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals Attend and/or lead meetings Other duties may be assigned. Experience, Education & Skills A minimum of 3 years’ experience in highway heavy construction Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Applications and Outlook Knowledgeable in Primavera Strong communication skills both written and oral Possess high attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivations skills Time Management, multitasking, and prioritization are crucial Must have a valid Driver’s License Working Conditions Location – Burnsville, MN. Travel Required Construction Site Environment – Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels. Construction Site Office Environment – Extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally. .
