Being a Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Ave Maria University invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Business Department beginning July 1, 2024. Competitive candidates will have significant applied professional experience in business and a PhD or DBA in Accounting. Further qualifications include teaching experience, a program of research, and a commitment to the University’s mission to educate the whole person in light of the Catholic liberal arts tradition as expressed in the document Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
The primary duties of the successful applicant will be teaching accounting and quantitative business analysis courses in both the undergraduate business and on-line MBA programs. Further duties include research and institutional service. Applicants must be flexible and willing to teach both in-person and on-line, undergraduate and graduate students. Seeking applicants willing to actively engage with students and contribute to building a collaborative departmental team culture.
