Production Director jobs in Colorado

Boulder Imaging is seeking a hands-on Director of Production who has experience in manufacturing processes control and design, production planning, warehouse planning, supply chain management and quality systems. Candidate must possess high initiative and collaboration in ensuring that production targets are met. There must be a history of successful manufacturing and quality improvement experience and a track record of delivering products in a low to medium volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Grow and manage the production assembly team, global supply chain team, manufacturing engineering and quality team.
• Promote and maintain a work environment that meets all company health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Support and oversee manufacturing of product and delivery to customer.
• Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles throughout the organization. 
• Develop production KPIs and report on them to the leadership team.
• Ensure that tooling and fixtures are delivered to manufacturing to support their needs.
• Drive quality into manufacturing through continuous process improvements in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Ensure the needs of manufacturing are represented in new design and engineering delivery to production.
• Develop and manage production schedules to meet planned system delivery dates.
• Contribute as a thought leader for production and supply chain best practices.
• Exhibit high initiative in process and design improvements to ensure the efficient growth of the manufacturing team and their collective output.
• Participate as a key strategic leader with peers on the director team.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated implementation and monitoring of manufacturing KPIs.
• Proven track record of successful implementation lean manufacturing principals.
• Proficient at implementing quality management plans with process, procedures, and metrics. 
• Self-motivated individual capable of learning the industry and our technology.. 
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excel in a self-directed work environment, as well as with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Certification in Six Sigma/kaizen is a plus.
• Experience leading manufacturing of precision electrical and optical equipment.
• Experience with planning and scheduling for a manual assembly process.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to work on under-defined problems and deal with ambiguity.
• Excel in a self-directed work environment, as well as with cross functional teams.

Desired Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in production management, engineering, or equivalent.
• 10 plus years of experience working in a production environment.
• 5 plus years of experience leading production teams.

Salary

$145,000 - $165,000/year
