Kids Club Attendant
Reports to: Assistant Athletic & Spa Director, Athletic and Spa Director
Supervises: No supervisory duties included in this position.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Implement childcare programs for members and guests children.
Essential Functions
Leadership- Contirbutes to a positive work environment
- Changes diapers and pull-ups on younger children and assists with potty training.
- Organizes activities, games, and arts and crafts for children.
- Requires being alert to and anticipating situations that would compromise the childrens physical or emotional well-being.
- Provide a comfortable, safe and non-threatening environment for children.
- Resolves disputes between children as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records on all children under his/her supervision. This may include a medical form and release on each child, appropriate sign-in/out, and ensuring all incidences involving the children are documented and reported.
- Properly cleans, disinfects, and maintains the Kids Club area, including all toys, equipment, play surfaces, and other spaces.
- Ensure the safety of all children; act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of children in the event of an emergency.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
- Plays games and reads with the children.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Completes other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Communicates member comments and concerns to the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Assists Athletic Club staff when no children are attending Kids Club.
- Some work experience as a childcare provider in a pre-school or before-and-after school setting.
- Child CPR and First Aid.
- Requires constant standing, walking, bending over, stooping and lifting to tend to the childrens needs and provide a clean environment.
- Setting may be noisy and cluttered at times.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
