    Responsibilities

    Performs all associated tasks involving radiation physics, radiation machine calibrations, treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, brachytherapy and machine functions

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs IMRT and Brachytherapy (HDR/LDR) planning and verification
    • Performs external beam planning in absence of dosimetry staff
    • Performs independent checks of treatment plans
    • Arrive in the OR at the required time. Brings appropriate equipment and radioactive materials when applicable.
    • Calculates treatment times
    • Properly documents the procedure in the patient chart
    • Orders, receives, and handles radioactive materials
    • Maintains accurate documentation on incoming and outgoing radioactive material
    • Maintains accurate logs of hot lab activity
    • Understands the Aria/Eclipse system and how to effectively utilize the system
    • Participates in weekly ongoing patient chart review
    • Utilizes radiation safety precautions when loading, unloading, & disposing of radioactive materials

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM

    Masters degree in radiation physics or related field

    Two years of clinical medical physics experience

    Must be board eligible for American Board of Radiology (ABR) Therapeutic Medical Physics Certificate or obtain certificate within 30 months of hire or transfer.
