As a Mail Processing Associate & Machine Operator, you will:

• Perform duties associated with the daily mail pickup across campus building mailrooms.
• Set up, operate, and maintain, inkjet addressing equipment, inserters, folders, and cutters.
• Sort and prepare bulk mailings.
• Perform a variety of mail processing functions such as sweeping mail from conveyors, sorting mail by zip code, sacking, traying, and tagging mail, and completing USPS paperwork.
• Distribute and deliver via mail truck USPS mail (parcels, flats, and letters) and interoffice mail to buildings.
• Case and sort USPS mail delivered by USPS courier, including preparing tie-out bundles, and loading them into trays, carts, and University vehicles for next-day delivery.
• Assist in picking up shredding containers and recycling materials around campus and perform shredding duties.
• Train student workers to ensure mail is processed properly and on schedule.

What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications):

• High school or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in material handling and success with learning and retaining policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience and success with learning and retaining policies and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Diligence and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and retain processes.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy bundles of up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.
