    Summary:

    We are seeking a motivated Jr. to mid-level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to assist in growing Tetra Tech’s Minnesota and Texas environmental business.  Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment.  Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel as needed, possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement.

    Your Role:

    • Support oil spill modeling portfolio including spill modeling, figure creation, and technical reporting, while ensuring internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
    • Preparation and/or review of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, safety plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets.
    • Experience authoring Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and completing Phase I and Phase II field work.
    • Assist Project Managers with planning environmental investigation and remediation tasks.
    • The preparation of charts, boring logs, and cross-sections depicting subsurface conditions.
    • Field work will include but is not limited to directing the installation of soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells, groundwater/soil sampling, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
    • Communicate effectively and work with regulators and other stakeholders with or on behalf of clients to further project delivery and success.
    • The position may require extensive outdoor work as well as extended overnight travel and weekend work.  Other duties may be assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences or geologic sciences required.
    • One to four years experience in the environmental industry or related environmental consulting experience.
    • Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
    • Experience with soil and groundwater sampling.
    • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel required.
    • Experience with ArcGIS required.
    • Applicant must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
    • Applicant must also be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.
    • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous experience or education with site investigations, remediation, sampling, and knowledge of Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) regulations.
    • Knowledge of laboratory analytical testing and data validation/interpretation.
