Patient Accounts Director oversees all functions of the inpatient and/or outpatient accounting office. Directs a staff of credit, collection, insurance, and billing personnel. Being a Patient Accounts Director ensures billing deadlines are met. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Patient Accounts Director typically reports to top management. The Patient Accounts Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Director of Payroll and Accounts Payable is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of payroll, invoice, and expense report processing at Bowdoin College. Cultivating strong working relationships with all employees, including various stakeholders such as the Vice President for Human Resources, Controller, Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting, Workday Product Managers, budget managers, campus administrators, and vendors is a critical component of this position.
