Job Summary:
The Diagnostic Imaging Research Coordinator will be responsible for the Follow Up Manager application. Follow Up Manager is used to track patients with an ‘incidental’ finding from initial radiology report to follow up closure.
We are looking for a driven individual willing to learn and work in an application set into place to help close the loop on radiologic findings. The perfect candidate will have high attention to detail, is a critical thinker, have prior experience working in a busy medical clinic, and is proficient in medical terminology and disease processes. The applicant should be a self-starter, be able to work independently, but also effective in contributing to the Health Information Management Services (HIMS) team environment. The position will require excellent customer service skills, reaching out to and maintaining positive relationships with referring offices and patients.
Key Job Objectives:
· Utilize the Nuance follow-up system to track advanced imaging requested by the radiologists or discharged patients from the hospitals.
· Utilize the follow-up system to successfully track compliance of successful imaging.
· Update the system and report weekly the number of patients on the follow-up tracking system.
· Report needed areas of focus by the clinical team to help referring physician offices order the necessary imaging timely.
· Coordinate and schedule needed studies as needed.
· Promote the Royal Solutions system as needed in the referring physician offices.
· Support the RN role in the communication of follow-up needs.
· Cover other HIMS duties as needed to include but not limited to: requesting and releasing medical records, fulfilling patient portal requests, non-IT PACS support.
