Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The Corporate Director of Organizational Development (CDOD)  is committed to fostering a culture of growth and development. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions. The CDOD actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and recognize performance. 

    This role facilitates learning and development and serves as a strategic partner in building a robust succession pipeline. The CDOD partners with recruiters to attract top talent. By collaborating with company leaders, leveraging the 9-box framework, and providing targeted coaching, we can ensure that our organization is well-equipped to thrive in the face of leadership transitions and evolving business needs.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Oversees the daily activities of company training leads/champions and/or training specialists.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Reviews existing training programs and suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
    • Analyzes/evaluates strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals.
    • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
    • Maintains knowledge of new training methods and techniques and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
    • Identifies problems and opportunities that training could improve, such as operational changes or industry developments.
    • Manages the individual development planning process for emerging leaders.
    • Provides consultative services to the business units regarding mentoring.
    • Conducts and/or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
    • Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
    • Ensures meeting training milestones and goals while adhering to the approved training budget.
    • Unifies training efforts among all M-D locations.
    • Reviews and applies for training grant opportunities in the community, such as TIP Funding.
    • Partners with key points of contact in the community to provide new and innovative employee opportunities that drive retention, such as the OU Workplace English program, citizenship classes, or maintenance apprenticeship program.
    • Manages and improves M-D University and Learning Management System to be utilized as the company’s go-to map for career development.

    • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • A bachelor’s degree in training and development or a related area is required.
    • A minimum of three years of training and supervisory experience is required. 
    • Experience working in a training and/or human resources environment is preferred. ● Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times, sit for prolonged periods at a desk, and work on a computer.
