Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking an Organizational Development Specialist to join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

    We are seeking an Organizational Development Specialist to help drive initiatives that support the growth and development of our organization. The ideal candidate will work closely with leaders and teams to identify opportunities for improvement, develop strategies for organizational effectiveness, and implement programs, curricula and trainings to enhance employee engagement and performance. The successful candidate will support the SIMCO Organization Development group, which is part of the Human Resources Department. Further, the candidate will design and deliver professional, leadership and management development curriculum and programs.

    Role expectations:

    • Collaborate with leaders to assess organizational needs and develop strategies to address them.
    • Design and implement organizational development initiatives, such as training programs, talent and succession planning management systems, and talent development plans.
    • Gather feedback from employees and identify areas for improvement.
    • Analyze data to inform organizational development strategies.
    • Facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as leadership development, team building, and change management.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of organizational development programs and initiatives.
    • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in organizational development and recommend improvements to existing programs.
    • Strong understanding of organizational behavior, leadership development, and employee engagement strategies.
    • Ability to quickly pivot focus based on business needs and continue to deliver results.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
    • Will also support projects and assignments related to other functional areas as assigned.

    Exempt Salary Grade (30-34)

    Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

    • PhD, or
    • Master’s degree with four (4) years of professional experience, or
    • Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of professional experience is required.
    • Experience must include some assignments/duties as an instructor at an academic institution or delivery/facilitation/instruction of professional development programs/classes for business organizations.

    Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Formal education in adult education, organizational development, academic programs management, educational leadership, or similar course of study is preferred.
    • The ideal candidate will have experience designing lessons, lesson plans, and communication plans.
    • Preference give to those candidates with experience coordinating schedules with input from multiple organizations.
    • Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.

    Minimum salary $78,719 per year of a larger salary range-- The specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
