Optician jobs in Illinois
Optician measures and fits contact lenses and eyeglass frames based on prescriptions written by ophthalmologists or optometrists. Takes precision measurements of eyes using a pupilometer and other devices to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Being an Optician assists and advises customers in selecting frames based on their prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Inspects lenses for quality, fits and adjusts eyewear, and repairs eyewear as needed. Additionally, Optician instructs customer on correct eyeglasses and contact lens care and maintenance. May process work orders and sales. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Applicable License. Requires Licensed Optician. Typically reports to a manager. Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Optician at Illinois Eye Associates in Manhattan, IL. The Optician will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Optician will assist with selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyewear for patients.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of optics and optometry
- Experience in providing excellent customer service
- Skills in selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyewear
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well in a team
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus
- Certification as an Optician is preferred
