Oncology Services Director plans and directs all aspects of an organization's oncology services policies, standards, and programs. Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and interns. Being an Oncology Services Director ensures oncology clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Oncology Services Director advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD. Typically reports to top management. The Oncology Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Oncology Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Compass Oncology, the largest multi-specialty medical oncology practice in the Pacific Northwest, is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team at our Rose Quarter Cancer Center. This position supports our Medical Oncology department and requires that this person be able to adapt quickly to an ever-changing clinical environment.     Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours, M-F

    Location: Rose Quarter Cancer Center (Portland, OR)

    Salary: $20.00-$28.82 Per Hour

    • Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate’s applicable experience and qualifications, as well as, internal employee equity considerations.

    Job Scope:

    Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician’s schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
    • Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
    • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
    • Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
    • Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
    • Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including but not limited to, hormones and biological growth factors.
    • Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
    • Processes instruments and equipment as needed.
    • Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
    • Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
    • Schedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and schedules appointments to follow-upon test results, as applicable.
    • Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
    • Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
    • Current BLS upon hire.

    Experience/Training:

    Minimum (1) year of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant
