Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities. Being an Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress. May require a master's degree. Additionally, Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home typically reports to a manager. Typically requires Occupational Therapist certification. Implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist
Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient
Instructs patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist
Evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and develop a treatment plan that includes a target list, short-term and long-term goals.
Qualifications
Licensed Occupational Therapist; OTR/L certification
