Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Develops policies and procedures to ensure all menus comply with general dietetic standards. Being a Nutrition Director administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. May Require Registered Dietitian (RD). Typically reports to senior management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Overview:

    The Director of Customer Development will own three critical priorities for Bloom.

    • Sales Planning and Innovation Execution
    • Trade Marketing and Analysis
    • Category Management and Data Ownership


    The Role reports to the VP of Sales and is a key driver of internal support for the external sales team. This is a strategic and tactical position that plays an integral role in Bloom’s Go To Market strategy. The successful candidate is analytical, action-oriented, and able to work well cross-functionally with sales, marketing & finance.


    Working collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams, this position also develops the annual sales plans and promotional guidelines, and evaluates both the effectiveness of the spend. This person also leverages category and consumer insights to develop compelling fact-based selling stories.

    Position Responsibilities and Capabilities:


    Trade Marketing

    • Analyze Bloom’s and competitors’ trade promotions to determine ideal timing, depth and frequency of future promotions.
    • Analyze trade spend to ensure trade dollars are optimized
    • Develop data & insight led recommendations to improve promotion performance
    • Develop and present trade marketing debrief presentations to key stakeholders including internal team and senior leadership
    • Convert insights into action by partnering with sales and marketing to action approved recommendations

    Sales Planning

    • Assist with annual plan development and calendar of promotional activities by brand and category
    • Own the AMPS (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, Shelving) for Sales execution setting guardrails and key priorities
    • Analyze competitive promotional pricing and pricing activity in line with programming requirements and to ensure they are within Brand pricing guardrails.
    • Highlight financial and non-financial success metrics based on previous performance, along with suggested program improvements.
    • Track, analyze and report on promotional activities performed, level of spending by promo by customer by channel, evaluating key program results, leveraging cross-functional teams as needed.
    • Strong understanding of trade promotion with both a distributor model and direct to retail model, with experience planning and managing OIs, MCBs, and Scanbacks.

    Category Management

    • Proactively uncover opportunities through collaborating with category development, tracking category, consumer, shopper, market, and customer information
    • Develop fact-based recommendations, selling tools and presentations
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of independence and resilience
    • Be an expert on data – Syndicated Data, Internal Sales Data, etc.
    • Ownership of performance reporting and score-carding
    • Collaborating While Managing Projects
    • Work closely with sales and cross-functional teams to implement shopper and category insights. Ability & experience to listen and draw out feedback from RSMs and Marketing teams.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s degree preferred
    • 5-7 years of experience in sales planning/ trade marketing/ promotional management/ category management/ insights strongly preferred
    • Experience with Syndicated Data sources (IRI Circana, Nielsen, SPINS, etc)
    • Excellent organizational skills- self-starter with ability to meet deadlines and balance competing priorities
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent listening skills and ability to implement feedback and insights from sales & marketing
    • Proven ability to synthesize information, form rational conclusions, and deliver recommendations leveraging facts
    • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership, sales and key stakeholders
