Nursing Home Director (Hosp. Op.) directs and conducts the activities of the hospital's nursing home in accordance with established hospital policies. Recommends changes to improve nursing home and reviews ongoing activities. Being a Nursing Home Director (Hosp. Op.) communicates with patients to ensure quality care. May require an advanced degree. Additionally, Nursing Home Director (Hosp. Op.) typically reports to top management. The Nursing Home Director (Hosp. Op.) manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Nursing Home Director (Hosp. Op.) typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities
Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; follows up on work results
Establishes a positive work environment by providing support to patients and their families
Provides information to patients and the health care team by answering questions and requests
Ensures complete and prompt reporting to the Executive Director/Administrator
Ensures that significant changes in residents' conditions are communicated to the physician and family or responsible party
Qualifications
Registered Nurse RN with over a years' experience in nurse leadership of a long-term care setting (ADON or DON)
Must have knowledge of state and federal regulations
