Nurse Practitioner jobs in North Dakota
Nurse Practitioner examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Nurse Practitioner may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires RN. Requires Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Nurse Practitioner's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Description
As a nurse practitioner in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit, you'll care for critically ill patients who are recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgery. Working in this specialty unit of a hospital, you'll take medical histories, examine and monitor patients, perform diagnostic tests, develop and implement plans of care, perform invasive procedures and collaborate with the cardiothoracic care team. You'll play a critical role in preventing illness, providing moral support, promoting health and wellness, and educating patients and families.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- ASN, ADN, BSN or MSN required
