Nuclear Pharmacist under the direction of a physician, compounds and dispenses radiopharmaceutical drugs to medical care providers. Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Staff clinical pharmacists fill orders for parenteral and enteral medications, monitor patient drug therapies, and provide drug information. Clinical pharmacist shall man the anticoagulation clinic and medication therapy management as well as the retail pharmacy. Clinical pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel (technicians and students). In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a clinical pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager.

    Regulatory/Educational Requirements

    • Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree.
    • Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Colorado.
    • Health system experience preferred.

    Language Skills

    • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Additional languages preferred.
    • Excellent customer service skills.

    Skills

    • Basic computer knowledge.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
    • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
    • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
    • Ability to set priorities, makes critical decisions, and responds quickly to emergency requests.
    • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment.
    • Ability to meet the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, psychiatric, oncology, obstetric, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing patients.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 DAYS. AFTER THAT DATE, THE POSITION WILL CLOSE WHEN A SUITABLE CANDIDATE IS SELECTED.
