Non-Destructive Test Technician uses automated and manual techniques including ultrasound and radiography to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in equipment. May be responsible for testing engines or other mechanical components, storage or transport vessels like pipelines or containers, or major structures like bridges or tunnels. Being a Non-Destructive Test Technician requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Non-Destructive Test Technician works under moderate supervision. Job Details :
- This position will require the engineer to work within the NDE group and contribute evaluation & inspection to the immediate AMT Decatur team as well as internal & external process partners.
- Building up additional bandwidth to an existing team to include additional part inspection & quality improvement opportunities
- Part identification.
- Material management.
- Print interpretation.
- Nondestructive evaluation. Documentation. Communication.
- Work with laboratory, internal quality engineers & external suppliers.
- This position will interact with several team members including the NDE management team, the AMT Laboratory team, the Decatur quality team & external suppliers.
- Mostly shop with some office/desk included for most of the documentation & communication.
- Additional work environments including supplier locations.
- Associate of Applied Science in Nondestructive testing technology
- Must have experience with :
- UT – Ultrasonic Testing
- UTPA – Ultrasonic Testing Phased Array
- RT – Radiography Testing
- VT – Visual Testing/Inspection of welds
- MT – Magnetic Particle Testing/Inspection
