Essential Functions

1. Network Operations
   1. Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure devices and applications.
   2. Ensure all network devices comply with industry best practices and follow internal security policies.
   3. Follow published policies for device patching and security vulnerability remediation.
   4. Maintain asset inventory of network devices and support contracts.
   5. Understand networking protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
   6. Provide tier one and tier two support.
   7. Deep understanding of network security best practices.
   8. Manage relationships with service providers, VARs, and software/infrastructure vendors.
      
      
2. Security
   1. Adhere to vendor best practices and compliance requirements.
   2. Develop an automation strategy for patch and device configuration delivery that meets the credit union defined objectives for operation and security.
   3. Understand intrusion prevention and detection systems.
   4. Follow established incident response plans and standards.
   5. Professionally handle obscene or offensive material.
      
      
3. Measured Outcomes
   1. Adhere to internal and external measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness of the technical operations and their impact.
   2. Adhere to metrics that demonstrate the adequacy and compliance to credit union security objectives relative to areas within scope.
   3. Supporting a culture of transparency, develop and publish metrics on overall team performance and system effectiveness relative to credit union objectives and norms.
      
      
4. Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP).

Job Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT-related field and four years of IT experience, or five years of progressive professional Information Technology experience and demonstrated strong technical acumen through technical certification.
• Training and certification in Microsoft, AWS, and networking is a plus.
• Technical Background
  • Working knowledge of enterprise management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Working knowledge of Azure, Active Directory, and management techniques for both on-prem and cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of various virtualization technologies.
• Experience with Splunk or Elastic is preferred

• Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for professional interactions with all levels of credit union staff under normal and adverse circumstances.
• Strong communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in systems support process.
• Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Requires detailed, team-oriented working style with the ability to apply critical thinking to resolve problems in new situations.
• Experience documenting complex workflows and transforming into automated solutions.
• Knowledge of data security practices and procedures.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
