MULTIMEDIA SERVICES MANAGER manages a staff of technical production specialists that contribute to and produce multi-platform communications including broadcast, web, social media, and print. Oversees and coordinates graphic design, copywriting, production, and printing processes. Being a MULTIMEDIA SERVICES MANAGER implements policies, procedures, and guidelines for producing media content. Familiar with software tools including the Adobe Creative Suite - Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Additionally, MULTIMEDIA SERVICES MANAGER requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The MULTIMEDIA SERVICES MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a MULTIMEDIA SERVICES MANAGER typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Multimedia Specialist (Senior Services)

  • Under general supervision from the Public Relations and Media Manager, the Multimedia Specialist specializes in video production and editing while providing creative design and presentation support using a variety of multimedia software platforms. This position supports various types of requests from across the Department and is responsible for interpreting the Department brand through high-quality videos, photos and digital content. Creates and edits various types of documents, graphical elements, videos, tables, and charts. Provides support to the Department outreach program by creating and preserving department signage, design, and multimedia to inform and educate. Collaborates with Department programs to promote a variety of Community Senior activities designed to enhance the lives of the Senior and Adaptive Disabled population of SRPMIC.  This job class is treated as FLSA Non-Exempt.


    Essential Functions:  Essential functions may vary among positions and may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and abilities among other characteristics.  This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of tasks performed by all positions in this classification.
     
    1. Video Production and Editing:

    Assumes a lead role in video production.

    • Expedites video projects from concept to completion, including pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
    • Revitalizes and manages the department’s YouTube channel, ensuring engaging, educational content that adheres to brand standards.
    • Develop and implement video projects that enhance the department’s programming and outreach, including training videos and service announcements

    2. Preservation and Documentation:

    Preserves, maintains and promotes the Department’s activities, events, programs, and any other relevant occurrences that are provided by the Senior Services Department.

    • Establishes a Department archive of photographs, and audio/visual media for future use and reference.
    • Creates, organizes and maintains a catalogue system for Department photographs, videos, and other multimedia materials
    • Creates and maintains a backup system and procedure for preserving all multimedia materials.
    • Assist with maintaining the media supply and equipment inventory which includes records associated with the status of equipment, maintenance of equipment, software checked out procedure, and all other conditions pertaining to inventory.
    • Researches, develops and maintains proper storage protocol for equipment including cameras, tripods, microphones, green screen, lighting and other electrical supplies.
    • Shares responsible for safeguarding and archiving all department multimedia materials.
    • Continuously updates and maintains media equipment inventory, focusing on video production tools such as cameras, microphones and lighting.

    3. Outreach, Branding and Marketing:

    Will work with Senior Services staff, department program participants, and other stakeholders to produce media that is culturally relevant, reflect a Department Culture and offer a visually appealing representation of the Senior Services Department to be disseminated to the community in a timely manner.

    • Collaborate with the department staff, And community members to produce culturally relevant video and multimedia content that reflects the departments mission.
    • Conducts on-site video shoots during department events and activities, capturing content that showcases the departments work‘s impact.
    • Assists with writing, reviewing and editing script(s) to support the audio and visual aids.
    • Determines content appropriateness according to intended audience and use.
    • Attends senior trips, activities and conferences as required by the department and its programs as opportunities to capture photos, interviews, and/or video as reference material to further enhance the department’s programming and outreach. 
    • Conducts interviews of seniors and Adaptive Disabled Adults as resources which will be compiled and utilized for department preservation, information, promotion and education.

    4. Technology & Special Projects:

    Applies innovative layout and design expertise to enhance the digital presence of the department via any applicable online digital medium, publications, data visualizations, and documents to educate, promote and inspire while simultaneously assisting with departmental operations as required to maintain all division workflow and quality services.

    • Consults with department staff to determine media production needs and advises them regarding various aspects of design, development and use of media.
    • Collaborates with department staff on a variety of projects and develops media projects goals, objectives and timetables for production.
    • Assists staff to develop department and division presentations by providing instruction on PowerPoint presentation, handouts and other materials that may be needed.  
    • Prepares presentations utilizing PowerPoint and other available software.
    • Coordinates multimedia projects to include facility and equipment use, use of slides and audio or graphic productions.
    • Perpetuate a “client-focused” approach to projects while working efficiently within firm deadlines and maintaining quality of product and services. 
    • Ensures consistency in design across expanding content and think creatively to justify concepts of these expanding projects.
    • Create original graphics, animations, infographics, schematics, and visual data while exhibiting exceptional visual and auditory trouble shooting skills.

    5. Miscellaneous:
    • Performs other job related duties as assigned to maintain and enhance Senior Services.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

    • Knowledge of Photography and Video production.
    • Knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions, history and government of the Salt River Pima- Maricopa Indian Community.
    • Knowledge of principle documents including, but not limited to, multiple computer software manuals, and audio/video recording manuals.
    • Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the production of media related projects.
    • Knowledge of multimedia development tools.
    • Knowledge of the production process with video projects, including pre-production and post-production. 
    • Knowledge of computing and design with a creative and artistic flair
    • Knowledge of color and form as it relates to the overall look of the project and basic color correction techniques

    • Ability to have the propensity towards patience and an attention to detail.
    • Ability to both lead and follow detailed instructions
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  
    • Ability to maintain accurate and timely program records according to prescribed standards.
    • Ability to utilize the personal computer and related software to fulfill job requirements.
    • Ability to coordinate media production work.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds including, but not limited to, audio, video and computer equipment for set up and presentation.
    • Ability and availability to work some evenings, and some weekends.

    • Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with service providers, public school systems, tribal communities, Community Members, Tribal Elders and SRPMIC staff.
    • Skill instructing others and working effectively on a team.
    • Skill developing audio and video educational visual aids.
    • Skill using audio and editing equipment plus digital recorders.
    • Skill using scanners and digital cameras.
    • Skill using recorders of any kind, projectors, Smart Boards and TVs.

    Education:  Graduation from High School or a GED equivalent required.

    • For enrolled Community members without a GED must obtain a GED. Requires participation in the HR GED Program and successful completion of the Arizona state certified exam in order to continue employment with SRPMIC.
    • An Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university in Technology, New Media, Computer Information Systems, Film & Media Production, or closely related area is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Technology, New Media, Computer Information Systems, Film & Media Production, or closely related area is highly preferred

    Experience.
    • Two years full-time professional level work experience with media production and design required.
    • Proficiency with both PC and Mac formats as well as Adobe Software Platform Products and Avid Platform Products.
    • Working proficiency with HTML (Hypertext mark-up language) and web page maintenance preferred.

    Equivalency:  Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position.
    May be required to work beyond normal work hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Must be willing to travel with senior population on occasion.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
