The Engagement Coordinator will coordinate and facilitate high impact internal and external engagement programs to enhance the role of the Tax Collector by educating and interacting with stakeholders regarding programs, initiatives and events which support community as well as the organization’s mission, vision and values. Analyze, plan, develop, implement, integrate, and maintain essential program elements.

**This is an onsite position in Fort Myers. The starting salary for this position is $58,600.00 but it could vary slightly based on experience. New employees are hired at or near the starting salary shown depending on qualifications and relevant experience. **
Main Responsibilities
- Formulate and oversee comprehensive internal and external outreach programs aimed at raising awareness of the services, programs, and activities related to the Tax Collector’s Office. Maintain essential elements of these programs to ensure success and sustainability.
- Plan, write, and produce content for various communication channels such as news releases, speeches, presentations, annual reports, brochures, articles, television, website, and social media.
- Design, write, and edit internal and external newsletters.
- Organize and manage speaking engagements, information sessions, and public awareness events from start to finish, including venue selection, coordination with municipalities, sponsors, vendors, and contractors, obtaining insurance, marketing, staffing, and budgeting.
- Create video, multimedia, and static presentations for speaking engagements, presentations, and events.
- Lead the Tax Collector’s Kids Tag Art Program in partnership with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.
- Assemble and lead a team of internal employees to participate in volunteer opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and vision.
- Work closely with internal departments, area chambers, local businesses, civic organizations, and government agencies to build and maintain effective partnerships.
- Conduct research and analysis to recommend, develop, and implement solutions for improving engagement functions and processes.
- Act as a photographer during meetings, presentations, and events.
- Set up and operate audio, video, and computer equipment for functions including speaking engagements, presentations, and events.
- Transport equipment and materials to offsite events.
- Maintain appropriate levels of inventory of educational materials at area chambers, local businesses, civic organizations, and other government agencies.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations and activities of the department.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field required. Supplemented by three (3) years of experience with progressively responsible duties. Or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
- Proven experience in program management, event planning and content creation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in multimedia tools and platforms.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work after hours and on weekends for scheduled events.
- Ability to utilize customer analytics and metrics in decision making.
FLSA Status Description
Position requires an extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish business strategies.
Work Conditions
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of light weight (up to 30 lbs). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals, and to communicate orally and in writing.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
