Borealis Mining Company, LLC, is focused on becoming a Nevada-focused mid-tier gold producer, bringing the Borealis Mine into development as a low-cost, high margin gold producer. The Corporate Mine Planning engineer is integral to planning and executing the development of the Borealis Mine, and to the evaluation and development of other assets brought into the Borealis Mining portfolio.
Responsibilities
· Provide engineering support to bring the Borealis Mine into profitable development.
· Provide engineering support to all regional open pit operations and projects.
· Complete open pit optimizations, mine and dump designs.
· Development and implementation of planning schedules, cost estimates, and evaluations of all projects.
· Contribute to annual budget and life of mine plans of all open pit operations in the region.
· Development and implementation of heap leach pad planning for all applicable sites.
· Complete studies and supporting documentation from screening to feasibility level.
· Liaison with site management and technical staff.
· Manage contractors, consultants and vendors.
· Plan, budget, communicate, and coordinate to meet established goals in a safe and efficient manner.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications
· B. S. Degree in Mining Engineering or related field experience.
· Minimum five (5) years of experience in open pit planning on producing mines
· Record of increasingly responsible roles in production environments
· Open pit optimization, design, and scheduling experience is a necessity.
· Proficient use of relevant technical applications. Experience with MicroMine is preferred.
· Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate leadership.
· Experience in underground mining would be preferred.
· Ability to travel to sites and work outside in varied weather conditions when necessary.
· An appreciation for geology and ore control preferred.
