Millwright jobs in Wisconsin
Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (list Below Is Not All Inclusive)- Practices safety at all times in compliance with company safety mission and philosophy, including following lock-out/tag-out and confined space entry procedures.
- Supports manufacturing and office with routine and emergency equipment repairs, installation, preventative maintenance and project work by performing the following duties.
- Metal fabrication, pipe fitting, hydraulics repair and carpentry.
- Operate shop equipment to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
- Performs preventative maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting as required.
- Performs all project work as assigned.
- Must be to read blueprints and schematics.
- Requires the ability to creatively solve problems and facilitate others to do the same.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts.
- Must be a confident decision maker and capable of making decisions within time and information constraints.
- Requires ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, inside and outside the company.
