Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. You will be responsible for setting up equipment, performing regular maintenance, and making any necessary repairs. You will be expected to use your expertise to identify issues with the machinery, fix or replace broken parts, and test the machines to ensure optimal performance.
Your knowledge of a variety of power tools will come in handy when making repairs. Additionally, you will conduct daily walk-through inspections and keep accurate records of all equipment-related activities. During maintenance and other shutdowns, you’ll be required to work.
In your daily work, you will have the opportunity to apply Lean manufacturing techniques to optimize our operations. Once you are up to speed, you’ll ensure designated support personnel are properly trained to provide maintenance support when needed.
We place a high value on safety, so it is important that you’ll adhere to all safety procedures if you join the ENTEK team. This means that you must be willing to wear a half-face respirator as needed which will require facial hair to be shaved when you report to work. This job may require you to repair electrical equipment as needed, but only if you’re licensed.
