Meter Reader is responsible for reading electric, gas, or water meters. Keeps track of their use by recording appropriate information. Being a Meter Reader inspects meters for damages or defects. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Meter Reader typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Meter Reader may require 0-1 year of general work experience. SUMMARY: Drives a company vehicle over established routes to take meter readings and other assigned duties.
HOURS: Varies based on work load 20-30 per week. Monday – Thursday. **Part time job - no benefits**

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
SAFETY: Working safely is a condition of employment. Employees shall verbally report and photograph all crashes / injuries to their Manager immediately. If your Manager is not available, report the crash / injury to the Safety Director another Manager, or Human Resource Manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be able to navigate around Windows and know Microsoft Word – (Excel a plus). Ability to quickly learn our computer software and mobile tablet software. Typing skills of 40 WPM.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
