Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst compiles and analyzes data required for merger, acquisition, and divestiture projects. Performs integrated revenue/expense analysis. Being a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst develops projections, reports, and presentations of the impact of a merger/acquisition on the organization. Performs financial forecasting and modeling. Additionally, Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst prepares required documentation. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings. Assists with project management activities. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Title: Associate, Strategy M&A

    Location: Indianapolis, IN

    Strategy M&A Group Description:

    As a key thought leader and resource for The Heritage Group (THG), the Strategy M&A (S M&A) team is charged with executing new platform investments, add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies and value creation initiatives across the THG portfolio. Team members have backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, business operations, and strategy consulting.

    Associate Position Description:

    The Associate will be expected to apply critical thinking, ask questions, and challenge assumptions. We place a strong emphasis on the ability to master the details while also seeing the big picture. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the diligence, financial analysis, and modeling of private companies.

    This individual will (i) work on new investment opportunities, including financial modeling, industry research, market analysis, and other due diligence, (ii) participate in strategic value creation initiatives within the THG portfolio, and (iii) work on other special projects for THG's executive team, including analyses around capital allocation and portfolio construction. Importantly, you will have direct exposure and interaction with the THG management team and our operating companies and their management teams.

    Necessary Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree with high academic achievement; preference for an Accounting, Business or Finance degree
    • 2 years of investment banking or principal investing
    • Unquestionable level of integrity
    • Willingness to roll up their sleeves and dig into details regardless of title/level
    • Naturally inclined to put the team before personal interests and celebrates group achievement over individual performance
    • High standards with ability to consistently deliver work product with minimal or no mistakes
    • Proactive in determining next steps in a project and recommending a course of action
    • Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
    • Experience in building and running financial models
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
    • Strong research skills, preferably in conducting industry and company research
    • Capable of analyzing data and distilling into salient conclusions
