Merchandise Buyer, Sr. jobs in Oklahoma

Highly motivated buyer to assist the company in creating strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining the existing ones. The buyer’s responsibilities include sourcing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices and advising upper-level staff members on which suppliers to contract with. Be able to maintain and update the supplier database and find alternative suppliers if the existing ones are unable to meet their obligations. Must ensure that all procurement happens within company guidelines and meets the consumer demand. Be able to work with the relevant departments to ensure that costs remain within budget and develop and implement innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies.

Sourcing/Supply Chain Specialist Responsibilities:

• Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
• Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.
• Obtaining quotes from different suppliers. Looking out for ways to reduce supply chain costs while improving service quality.
• Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Working with key stakeholders to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
• Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
• Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
• Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
• Coordinates with logistics, warehouse and production staff as needed.
• Automating repetitive aspects of supply chain functions.
• Identifying and implementing sustainable and less resource-intensive supply chain solutions.
• Keeping abreast of current trends in volatile variables of the supply chain, such as raw material costs, logistics rates, etc.
• Adopting and complying with industry standards and best practices.
• Incorporating product quality specifications into all purchase orders to maintain high company quality standards.
• Informing vendors of unacceptable goods and obtain credit for returned items.
• Studying market prices, trends, and technical developments. Advise management, production, and sales of significant market information.
• Sourcing, both domestic and international.

Sourcing/Supply Chain Specialist Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in administration, logistics, supply chain or related experience highly preferably in bakery manufacturing.
• Proven experience in sourcing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft word, PowerPoint, excel, and outlook.
• A thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Sound time-management and organizational skills.
