Men's Athletics Director jobs in Wyoming
Men's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's men's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire men's coaching staff. Being a Men's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Men's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Men's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Men's Athletics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Basic Function : The University of Wyoming is now seeking candidates for a postgraduate media relations assistant for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year focusing on athletics communications.
Duties & Responsibilities :
The athletics communications position will assist in daily operations of the Athletic Communications Department and will be the primary media contact for selected sports.
Pay Rate : depending on experience. Position will pay $20,000 over 10 months.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s Degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program.
- Expereince with NCAA Stats and experience in writing press releases
- Prior Athletics communications experience.
Desired Qualifications :
- Working knowledge of Statcrew, NCAA LiveStats, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and social media.
- At least two years working in communications office as an intern at collegiate level
- Experience with SIDEARM websites is helpful but not a requirement.
- Strong writing and communications skills
