Member Services Supervisor supervises a group of member services representatives that address health plan or HMO member inquiries, questions and concerns in all areas including enrollment, claims, benefit interpretation, and referrals/authorizations for medical care. Responsible for researching more complex questions, investigating the cause of the issue, and responding to members on escalated issues. Being a Member Services Supervisor assists with hiring, training, ongoing monitoring and QA, performance evaluations and any corrective actions of member services representatives. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Member Services Supervisor typically reports to a manager. The Member Services Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     The AmeriCorps member supervisor will participate in daily lab duties on an NIH/NICHD funded research projects. The AmeriCorps member supervisor will manage the SAGE program and all its operations and projects to provide direct service to the community partnering sites. The AmeriCorps member supervisor will also manage a team of AmeriCorps members from the recruitment process to monitoring the work that is completed on a weekly basis.

    We are seeking a supervisor who will oversee the progress of AmeriCorps members as they work on our NIH project called SAGE, as well as other research projects we are partnered with at Edson College, ASU. This individual will ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the success of our research initiatives.

    Essential Duties

    • Conducts research, recruitment, enrollment, data collection
    • Under limited supervision, plans, organizes and leads the NIH grant funded programs, overseeing all operations and projects to provide direct service to community partnering ECE sites
    • Responsible for recruitment, selection, and onboarding of AmeriCorps members. This includes outreach efforts over a variety of platforms, including ASU job fairs, events, and other networks.
    • Supervise a team of AmeriCorps members, handling tasks from recruitment to weekly performance monitoring
    • Executes and reports on various survey processes for students, provides data for the grant report.
    • Manages the intake processes and records for AmeriCorps. Creates and provides orientation and initial training for the AmeriCorps team, including team building, workshops, and an overview of all requirements and expectations.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with AmeriCorps members, partners, and staff. Takes the lead on recognition for AmeriCorps members, including facilitation of the completion ceremony, and nominations for awards.
    • Maintains detailed records of daily laboratory tasks.
    • Inventories and requisitions supplies.
    • Trains students in the operation of equipment and/or in the performance of technical procedures.
    • Travels to research sites and conduct collection of field testing for child motor skills, and intervention implementation (mileage reimbursement).
    • Maintains detailed records of data for computer input and records computer output.
    • Organizes data, prepares data for computer input and records computer output.
    • Conducts library and online searches to find research information on related procedures and techniques that can be used in the laboratory and/or field.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Four years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience in managing programs and supervising teams
    • Evidence of being able to speak, write and read in Spanish/English (bilingual) is preferred
    • Experience in working in the community with culturally diverse groups of people
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and techniques of research recruitment, enrollment, and participant confidentiality
    • Demonstrated knowledge of research methods, data collection, data entry, data proofing, and analyses.
    • Experience in performing in a professional manner and in collaboration with a variety of individuals
    • Experience working with pre-school/head start school systems
    • Experience working with diverse pre-school/head start student populations (including first generation, and low-income)
    • Experience recruiting for research studies
    • Experience on implementing physically active interventions
    • Experience providing training
    • Evidence of effective communication skills
    • Experience prioritizing workload
