Meeting/Event Planner jobs in Maine
Meeting/Event Planner plans and organizes live or virtual meetings and events for an organization or external clients. Implements an event strategy to achieve objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Planner researches and recommends event venues. Coordinates meeting logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology. Additionally, Meeting/Event Planner conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity. Researches and maintains relationships with vendors for event support services. Coordinates budget planning and ensures that events stay within cost projections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. An ever-evolving regional planning organization seeks an individual to perform technical & professional work in municipal land use, subdivisions, site plan review, and community resilience planning assistance. Minimum qualifications include:- B.A. or B.S. in regional or community planning, environmental science, rural and urban design, landscape architecture, land use planning, geography, or related planning field. Demonstrated knowledge of the planning board review process desired. Masters preferred. Pending graduation considered.
- Effective written communication, public presentation, and people skills, experience in social media and web design a plus;
- Experience or knowledge of the Planning Board review processes desired;
- Familiarity with GIS mapping and data systems
- Strong organization and prioritization skills, ability to work independently;
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Knowledge of Maine and federal funding opportunities; and,
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
