Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Job Description Marcum LLP is seeking a Director to join our growing and well established national firm in Philadelphia, PA. This position requires an experienced Advisory Services professional with strong interpersonal and litigation consulting skills. Responsibilities: • Assist legal counsel and their clients in preparation for dispute resolution by analyzing and preparing expert reports and testimony • Manage client relationships throughout the process encompassing overall planning, budgeting, billings and collections • Manage subordinate efforts – train and develop employees in all aspects, provide leadership, direction and meaningful feedback • Communicate findings to Partner, outside counsel and client • Pursue activities to further develop practice – Network to develop prospective referrals - Identify niche areas of concentrations to expand practice – Cross-sell other Marcum service lines – participate in professional, business or charitable organizations • Present at conferences, seminars and meetings of professional, legal or business group • Identify key documents which relate to relevant concepts and issues • Critique opposing party claims • Effective delegation of work assignments to develop and train staff Qualifications: • 10 years of combined experience in litigation consulting and public and private accounting • CPA, CVA, ASA, ABV, CFE preferred • A Masters or Juris Doctorate is a plus • Ability to articulately communicate professional/technical knowledge • Effective business advisory and client relations skills • Decisively identify and execute solutions to problems • Thorough understanding of complex technical issues • Strong Practice Management skills #LI-BL2 Marcum LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer Marcum LLP does not discriminate on the basis of race, ancestry, national origin, color, religion, sex, gender identity, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification under the law.
