Being a Medical Records Supervisor implements digital technologies and tools to gain efficiencies, facilitate record retrieval, and ensure secure storage. Provides training for medical records staff and information resources to end-users. Additionally, Medical Records Supervisor coordinates with clinical and technical professionals to maintain robust records management systems and manage data for analysis and reporting. May require an associate degree. Typically requires Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). Typically reports to a manager. SUMMARY:
The Medical Records Technician (MRT) is responsible for overseeing clinical information entering and leaving WHC.This may be via paper, fax, CD, electronic media, ordigitalmeans. The position is responsible for ensuring WHC meets its legal responsibilities in replying to subpoenas and other Requests for Information. The MRT is the functional supervisor for the systems WHC puts in place to share data with other entries.The MRT is responsible for ensuring incoming data is placed in the correct system locationsor assigned to the correct personneland that outgoing data isgoing to the correct locations, whileadhering to the security and confidentiality rules WHC has enacted.
