About the role: The Development Manager oversees and coordinates various aspects of development projects within the Grand Rapids Community Media Center (GRCMC). They are a key contributor to the execution of our Strategic Plan, ensuring that all fundraising projects align with the business objectives and are completed within predetermined timelines. The Development Manager will work closely with cross-functional GRCMC teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression from inception to delivery. The Development Manager will be the driving force, leading to achieving fundraising success. Their primary focus is managing and optimizing the development process, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards. They will collaborate with GRCMC program leads, the Executive Director, and stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables. Leveraging their technical expertise and understanding of industry best practices, they will guide the team in making informed decisions and resolving challenges that may arise during development.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning: The Development Manager actively participates in the project planning phase, working
closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, outline deliverables and establish realistic timelines.
a. Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies; Direct mail campaigns, social media and
email campaigns, local and national grants, program underwriting, fundraising events, cultivation of local
and national donors and implementing stewardship.
b. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify project requirements
c. Collaborate with team leads and stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
d. Create comprehensive project plans, including timelines and resource allocation.
2. Collaboration and Communication: The Development Manager will work with the different GRCMC Program
Leads, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
a. Foster open lines of communication and collaboration.
b. Facilitate regular meetings and status updates to ensure transparency and alignment.
c. Effectively communicate project updates, progress, and challenges to program leadership.
3. Quality Assurance: Ensuring the delivery of high-quality software management is a crucial responsibility of the
Development Manager. They will actively promote and enforce quality control measures throughout the
development process.
a. Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain project excellence and accurate donor data.
b. Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance checks at various stages of development.
c. Continuously optimize development methodologies to enhance overall project quality.
