Maternity Services Director is responsible for the maternity unit and all sub-unit operations and staffing. Coordinates activities related to labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and the baby nursery. Being a Maternity Services Director manages the departments operating budget and measures performance using standards established by the hospital. May direct community outreach programs to deliver women's health information and education. Additionally, Maternity Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires registered nurse (RN). The Maternity Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     CHI St. Alexius is looking for a RN to join the Maternity & Women's Team!

     

    Looking for a RN who believes in the power of #humankindess. RNs with CHI St. Alexius function as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. This individual will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.

     

    What you’ll do:

    • Accountable for all Registered Nurse duties and responsibilities as well as the following duties and responsibilities.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of unit standards of care, staff competencies, and individual patient care needs in facilitation proper patient placement and patient care assignments.
    • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including care coordination, physicians, and management, using and promoting effective communication strategies to meet inter-and intra-departmental needs.
    • Actively role models and coaches the behaviors associated with leadership and assist others in developing their skills and knowledge.
    • Successfully completes the defined job specific competencies, including competencies for age specific, as appropriate.

    Skills:

    • Demonstrates ability to organize personnel assignments and activities for others for the overall benefit of the unit.
    • Working knowledge of clinical skills in delivery of patient care.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in unit and the ability to function efficiently during crisis
    • Basic Life Support Certification within the orientation period and meets re-certification as required.  

     

    Work Agreement:

    • FTE Status: .9, 72 Hours Per Pay Period
    • Shift type: Day shift/Night shift Rotating
    • Shift length: rotating 12 hour day/night (0700-1900 and 1900-0700)
    • Wage Rate: $33.35 - $52.60 /hour
    • On Call Expectations: Yes
    • Weekend/Holiday Frequency: Every 3rd weekend/Rotating two Holidays per year with the exception of the rotation which includes Easter as a non-paid holiday
    • Job Classification: Non-Exempt
     

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    Education: Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing; BSN preferred.  

    Licensure: Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of ND or in a compact state. 

    Experience: At least two (2) years clinical experience within specialty area preferred.
