Account Manager
Position Description: The Account Manager is responsible for several key areas, including:
- Developing annual marketing communications strategies to help a client achieve its business goals, and ensuring subsequent marcom initiatives are consistent with these strategies and goals
- Determining the client’s marketing needs and finding/creating opportunities for our team to fulfill
- Serving as the lead liaison/consultant with the client for all marketing communications initiatives
- Ensuring that all marketing communications initiatives are on target, and bearing ultimate responsibility for their success
- Proactively learning about and keeping abreast of clients’ products/services, business and industry dynamics
- Coordinating resources across a multi-disciplined team to manage the successful execution of projects, including working closely with the Account Executive responsible for managing tasks
- Growing the client’s budget, including establishing, monitoring and achieving monthly gross profit targets
- Proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks to client relationships and project success
- Proactively learning about and keeping abreast of clients’ products/services, business and industry dynamics
Required Education or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; a major in marketing, communications or a related course of study is strongly preferred
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the marketing/advertising field is required
- Three years of agency experience is also required

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive and responsive in communications and actions
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small and large group settings
- Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- An inclination for phone or face-to-face client interactions, while still being able to communicate effectively in written settings
- Excellent critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to learn about complex subjects and clients quickly
- Solid analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team, and excel in a fast-paced environment with many projects in motion simultaneously
- Ability to both handle high-level strategic thinking, as well as sharing responsibilities for day-to-day project management with the Account Executive as needed
- Ability to develop marketing communications strategy
- Demonstrated consultative selling skills
- Ability to manage all situations with professionalism, competence and confidentiality
