BASIC FUNCTION: Design, integrate and improve manufacturing or related processes.
Major Duties
- Create tools to help technicians maintain high quality and efficiency standards
- Plan, coordinate and implement continuous improvement activities
- Specify, test and recommend new materials for functionality/quality
- Evaluate new/existing process equipment for improvement, as needed
- Collaborate with material and equipment suppliers to support plastics processes
- Help drive efficiency by responding to and correcting production problems.
- Actively engage in new product project development, specifying equipment, molds, support tooling and set-up.
- Review injection molded part, design for manufacturability
- Collaborate with tool vendors to adjust, approve and coordinate tool designs
- Develop manufacturing costing process for new and existing products
- Maintain regulatory compliance – conflict minerals, Prop65, RoHS, REACH, etc.
- Actively support and participate in the ISO process
- Partner with supplies to qualify materials; troubleshoot/correct quality problems
- Support purchasing functions by submitting purchase details for materials, shop supplies and repairs for maintenance and tool room plant manager for final approval.

Qualifications
- 1-3 years Plastics manufacturing experience
- Computer literate
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead projects from conception to execution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
