Being a Log Grader and Scaler is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Log Grader and Scaler performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Measuring and grading logs, taking deductions for defects, recording scale data on a handheld computer and filing necessary paperwork.
Desired experience and qualifications:
Forestry or related background preferred. Desire to work outdoors and ability to work unsupervised is a must. We are looking for motivated individuals that want to start a challenging and rewarding career in the timber industry. Candidates must be punctual and professional with strong math and verbal skills.
Training:
2-3 month on the job training program.
