    Materials Specialist - Kuparuk Field Support Services - Fleet Shop

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    This individual will be familiar with construction and maintenance material and tools. Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, between sections or departments, according to project and shipping schedules or project priorities, and compiles and maintains manual and or computerized records: Reviews project schedules and related information and confers with General Foreman to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material. Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates, according to job order priorities and material availability. Arranges in-stock transfer of materials to meet project schedules. Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material shortage list, material take offs. Arrange for repair and or return of damaged or incorrect material. This position requires organization and being able to manage conflicting priorities.

     

    In addition to making sure the flow of materials is uninterrupted, the material coordinator must utilize procurement concepts in order to minimize costs. Strong administrative and computer skills required. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Must be self-motivated and able to work with limited direction and supervision. Represent Clients’ Materials organization in meetings and matters pertaining to Capitol Projects. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Computerized Purchasing and Material Tracking and Scheduling Experience 
    • Good communication skills, including e-mails, meetings, verbal and written.
    • Five or more years’ experience and/or training; with at least 3 years directly related to the petrochemical industry; familiarity with oilfield production equipment, its maintenance and standard parts, to include electrical, mechanical, piping, instrumentation and insulation materials. Arctic experience is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills required. 
    • Must have current driver license and be able to pass background check on current driver license. 
    • SAP computer program experience desirable.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel. 
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
    • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Five (5) or more years’ related training and experience.
    • Three (3) years directly related to the petrochemical industry; familiarity with construction of oil field production equipment, it’s maintenance, chemicals used, logistics and standard parts, to include electrical, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, and insulation materials is required.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

    WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

    While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
