Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect life insurance contracts. Accepts, modifies or declines a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazards, financial background, insurable interest and other information. Being a Life Underwriting Supervisor analyzes various rate plans utilizing the organization's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Familiar with current legislative and compliance processes affecting life insurance. Additionally, Life Underwriting Supervisor may evaluate reinstatements and changes in existing policies. May have designations or course work toward the CLU, FLMI, etc. Has a sound working knowledge of medical terminology. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Life Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. This position oversees the direct implementation and supervision of services and cares provided to the children/young adults residing on the ACC campus. The incumbent provides direct supervision, coaching and mentoring. He/she effectively problem solves issues and needs of both the clients served as well as employees. In cooperation with the Operations Manager, the position is responsible for completion of the DSP/CNA performance appraisals, and the recruitment, selection, training, and retention of employees with the home. This position assists the operations manager in the effective operations of the home/residential services. This position is responsible for the communication within the home as well as between the homes. This position completes their work on the floor directly supervising and modeling ideal behavior as well as dealing with employee issues and concerns as they arise. This position leads the designated shifts. The supervisor serves as a positive role model for staff. Full time supervisor position. Work every 5th holiday and every 4th weekend, 7a-7:30p. CNA required, CMA and eligible driver preferred. Working with the other residential supervisor's to oversee Meadowlark, Rose, and Elm. Responsible for staffing assignments, monitoring employee trainings, in the moment coaching, and other duties as delegated. This position will meet the following minimum requirements: Minimum of two years of field experience in the area of Developmental Disabilities. Must be able to demonstrate effective skills in organization, supervision, leadership, be able to pay attention to details, and communication skills - both oral and written. Must be able to adapt to rapid change, and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations. This position requires effective skills in negotiation, organization, leadership, and be able to organize work with various interruptions.
