    The Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation announces its search for a Professional Licensing Supervisor. Potential for hybrid schedule. This is administrative work of a supervisory nature in conducting and overseeing professional licensing and educational program operations for compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Responsibilities include providing program administrative support, reviewing real estate brokerage education program submissions; auditing real estate brokerage education programs; resolving questions regarding law and rule interpretations; determining, monitoring and reporting education noncompliance and preparing documents for resolution of issues. Provide information to individual professionals, professional groups and the public on licensing, regulatory practices, state and/or federal laws and rules. Supervision is exercised over assigned licensing personnel. Work is performed under limited supervision. 
     

    Primary responsibilities include:  

    • Reviews and evaluates applications from real estate brokerage education providers for approval to offer qualifying and continuing training & development course programs.
    • Monitors and conducts audits of real estate brokerage education programs to determine compliance with laws, rules and performance standards.
    • Coordinates and consults with course providers, instructors and other professionals regarding course development, delivery and evaluation.
    • Develops course curriculum for qualifying and continuing education courses in conjunction with educators and subject matter experts.
    • Compiles and writes statistical reports on education programs, instructor performance, other education-related topics and license trends.
    • Manages licensing programs, including supervision of assigned staff.
    • Researches special topics in order to provide requested information.
    • Testifies at administrative hearings related to the denial of an education program, professional license and, as necessary, disciplinary matters.
    • Interprets and explains professional licensing and regulatory laws and rules to licensees and educators in order to ensure consistent understanding and implementation.
    • Evaluates and maintains program-specific websites assigned to the unit.
      Provides information to professionals, and the public on licensing, regulatory practices, state and federal laws and rules.
    • Plans for and recommends new and revised program policy.

    Skills or knowledge required:

    • Real estate brokerage experience as a real estate agent and/or development /instruction of real estate brokerage education).
    • Ability to supervise subordinate personnel.
    • Ability to interpret and explain pertinent laws, rules and regulations.
    • Ability to evaluate information, arrive at logical conclusions and make sound recommendations and decisions.
    • Ability to conduct research and statistical analysis.
    • Ability to plan, set and administer program goals and objectives. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Ability to use applicable computer programs.

    Minimum qualifications:

    A Bachelors Degree in Education, Business/ Public Administration, or related field and two (2) years experience in program development, professional licensing, developing training curricula, and/or supervisory/lead worker experience. –OR- An acceptable equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience. 

    Preference will be given to those applicants:

    With real estate brokerage education instruction and/or real estate brokerage experience.
