Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the paralegals and lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
Duties:
- Set up, Organize, and maintain legal files
- Prepare basic legal documents and correspondence
- Daily Filing
- Manage attorney Outlook calendars and appointments
- Assist with intake consultations and take notes during appointments
- Transcribe dictations and draft letters
- Handle phone calls with professionalism and courtesy
- Perform data entry tasks accurately
- Send out for medical records, review records, summarize reports of records
- Support paralegals and attorneys in court filings and other legal proceedings
Requirements:
- Typing speed 40 wpm with 0 mistakes
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in data entry and administrative tasks
- Familiarity with Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, Drop Box, Medical Records, and filing documents
- Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately
- Excellent phone etiquette, communication and listening skills
- Legal Secretary certification or relevant degree is advantageous but not required
- Must be willing and able to pass a drug test when requested
