Kitchen Manager manages the daily operations of the kitchen, which may include but not limited to: accounting, finance, staff working schedule, inventory control and equipment supplies. Responsible for employees' training. Being a Kitchen Manager oversees other departments that contribute to the operations of the kitchen. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Kitchen Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Kitchen Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Kitchen Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     YOUR ROLE AS A VUI'S KITCHEN SHIFT LEADER: 

    • Serving guests, making meaningful connections with them
    • Opening & closing tasks
    • Being responsible for the restaurant and the team working when a manager isn’t on duty.
    • Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your team about their duties 
    • Mastering menu and product knowledge
    • Supporting or working stations when needed (kitchen included)
    • Prepping food and doing side work
    • Following proper cash handling and payment procedures
    • Maintaining Health Department Standards throughout each shift 
    • Proper food handling and storage of food products
    • Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform and appearance

    THE IDEAL TEAM MEMBER:

    • Must be 21 years of age. 
    • Prior food service experience preferred. 
    • Leadership, guest service, and verbal communication skills with guests / team members 
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks and priorities. 
    • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to the policies and procedures. 
    • Energetic, ready to learn, loves fresh food.
    • Work flexible schedule.
    • Dependable, reliable and trustworthy

    ALL EMPLOYEES MUST:

    • Understand and abide by all company standards and policies (provided in your handbook)
    • Obtain a Food Manager’s certification shortly after beginning employment.

    YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:

    A typical workday at Vui's Kitchen may look like:

    • Morning shift - 8am - 4pm
    • Evenings - 4pm - 9:30pm
    • Weekends- when applicable
    • Holidays - when applicable (CLOSED Thanksgiving & Christmas)

    *Hours will vary by store.

    You may work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a char grill, oven, slicer, mixer and food processor. 

    YOUR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
